JM part 1 (Week 1 to Week 5)

Hi, this my first time ever writing for a blog, So this is about our Jalinan Masyarakat progress throughout Week 1 till Week 5. It's in the daily form instead of the whole week being put in a paragraph. Enjoy reading... Week 1 Tuesday, 18 Feb, 2020 Izzati forward the messages group chat from Dr. Arpah regarding briefing session on next Monday, 24 Feb at 1pm. We all thought this date is for the Social engagement (SE) course while actually it’s for Bioinformatics students’ meeting with Dr Arpah. Wednesday, 19 Feb, 2020 Briefing for SE and 1 st unofficial meeting without Dr. Arpah and everything through whatsapp. Decided that we will have meeting on every Monday, 11am to 1p.m Izzati also mentions about the twist for this semester’s SE different from previous batch. It is to benefit on both sides during the event, the students and the participants. Suggestion date of event is around 18 April to 22 April. SE MCO

SE=Social Engagement (the subject's assignment) MCO=Movement Control Order (bcos our community service is cancelled and replace with this assignment >-<) It was our first online meeting using Google Meeting today (Monday, 27/4/2020). Dr had asked me to create a whatsapp group for the subject well basically the members are my coursemates We already had our own whatsapp group it's just without dr '=) So, dr had been contacting us through whatsapp before the meeting to inform about the changes made by faculty regarding the course outline and also about the meeting. During the meeting, dr briefed us about the assignment we have to do. We need to figure out things about this pandemic and sort of reflect about it. Previously, we had all the bureaus and MTs but not anymore for this assignment. We have to divide ourselves into group of 5 and work together on a chosen topic. week 1 - week 6 progress

Hi. So this entry is going to be about our Social Engagement Progress throughout week 1 to week 6. You may skip all the way to the Site Visit (March 8th,2020) part where it gets a little bit interesting . I said a little, so do not get your expectations too high 😌 February 24th, 2020 Our meeting for this course started with short presentations from each bureau on their work progress. After that's settled, everyone sat accordingly to their bureaus and discussed on each bureaus' responsibilities to make this project successful. March 2nd, 2020 Each Head of Bureau presented their respective bureau work progress. Next, project director, Zamir gave some slight briefing about the site visit dated 8th of March. On the other hand, Multimedia and Publicity Bureau created an Instagram account for the project (@bioinfoum_se) and a blog for us to update and share our activities and progress related to the Social Engagement Project. Last Meet-ing

   The third or in another word our last meeting was held on 9th March 2020, at that point, I should tell we were so confident with the project, we have a crystal clear view of the future of the project. We went to the site view on 8th March, met the "Ketua Kampung" and his Secretory(Brader Usop), surveyed the resort, and had our lunch at Pantai Remis Restaurant and was dreaming to bring our other friends there to eat.   In the meeting, I presented the date, location, and program tentative with PowerPoint slides to the group and Dr.Arpah. All the other bureaus too were presenting their work energetically. Everyone was excited about the project and I can see everyone was working hard to make the project successful. I still remember at the end of the meeting we were discussing and voting the movie we wanted to play on movie night. Assalamu’alaikum and hello !  Pantai Remis on our way back to UM  It’s my first posting here and I decided to combine these three meetings in one post because well why not . And I don't know if my grammars are okay or not but if not ... well , buat buat tak nampak :D On our first meeting, there was an air of ,, I don’t know how to word it but yeah we were pretty awkward to each other or maybe it was just me feeling that way haha . It was our very first course that gathered all of us together in one room since before this , the only time we got to be together was for the meetings with other seniors that also taking Bioinformatics . The meeting began with Dr Arpah briefed us some information about Social Engagement for this semester and how different it is compared to the last few semesters where our seniors did their social engagement course in an orphanage house . Site Visit to The Beach!

So yeah, as the title says, we went to the beach! (not only to the beach, of course) It was a Sunday morning, 8/3/2020 to be precise, a few of us were "privileged" enough to represent the group to carry out a site visit to Kampung Sungai Sembilang located in Jeram, Selangor. After around an hour drive, we managed not to get lost and reached the village safely. Met the head of the village (ketua kampung) and his secretary, spoke to them, discussed about the details and bla bla bla... you know the rest. Managed to settle stuffs thanks to them super helpful people. Went to scout some homestays afterwards, checked out the beach to see how dirty  clean it is and had a seaside lunch before we returned to UM. It was a pretty chill trip and I think that's about it for the moment, stay tuned for more and  sea yall next time! Thanks and regards, Kok

SE-cond Meeting

Assalamualaikum and hellooo! Today at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., is our second meeting for social engagement course. Dr was a little bit late because she had a meeting, so Zamir conducted our meeting while waiting for Dr Arpah. Honestly, before and during the meeting before Dr came, I felt like quite okay because I thought most of bureaus were progressing quite okay though I felt like quite slow including myself. Multimedia had already came out with logo designs, activities had already listed desired activities to be done, sponsorship had already listed out the potential companies; had acquired proposal slides template and official letter template, logistic is still pending because we haven't confirm place yet. And there you go, the crucial thing of the program yet the main issue not yet to be solved. "We haven't confirmed the place we wanted to go for our program."
