What BioInfo stands for?

BioInfo is a short term for bioinformatics , a field that develops methods and software tools for understanding biological data, in particular when the data sets are large and complex. As an interdisciplinary field of science, bioinformatics combines biology, computer science, information engineering, mathematics and statistics to analyze and interpret the biological data. Bioinformatics has been used for in silico analyses of biological queries using mathematical and statistical techniques. 
Bioinformatics includes biological studies that use computer programming as part of their methodology, as well as a specific analysis "pipelines" that are repeatedly used, particularly in the field of genomics. Often, such identification is made with the aim of better understanding the genetic basis of disease, unique adaptations, desirable properties (esp. in agricultural species), or differences between populations. In a less formal way, bioinformatics also tries to understand the organisational principles within nucleic acid and protein sequences, called proteomics.

What is social engagement?

 Social engagement (also social involvement, social participation) refers to one's degree of participation in a community or society.Social engagement is related to participation in collective activities, which reinforces social capital and social norms. Key elements of social engagement include activity (doing something), interaction (at least two people need to be involved in this activity), social exchange (the activity involves giving or receiving something from others), and lack of compulsion (there is no outside force forcing an individual to engage in the activity). For the most part, social engagement excludes activities for which one is getting paid, or family obligations.

SE-cond Meeting

Assalamualaikum and hellooo! Today at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., is our second meeting for social engagement course. Dr was a little bit late because she had a meeting, so Zamir conducted our meeting while waiting for Dr Arpah. Honestly, before and during the meeting before Dr came, I felt like quite okay because I thought most of bureaus were progressing quite okay though I felt like quite slow including myself. Assalamu’alaikum and hello !  Pantai Remis on our way back to UM  It’s my first posting here and I decided to combine these three meetings in one post because well why not . And I don't know if my grammars are okay or not but if not ... well , buat buat tak nampak :D On our first meeting, there was an air of ,, I don’t know how to word it but yeah we were pretty awkward to each other or maybe it was just me feeling that way haha . It was our very first course that gathered all of us together in one room since before this , the only time we got to be together was for the meetings with other seniors that also taking Bioinformatics . Site Visit to The Beach!

So yeah, as the title says, we went to the beach! (not only to the beach, of course) It was a Sunday morning, 8/3/2020 to be precise, a few of us were "privileged" enough to represent the group to carry out a site visit to Kampung Sungai Sembilang located in Jeram, Selangor. After around an hour drive, we managed not to get lost and reached the village safely. Met the head of the village (ketua kampung) and his secretary, spoke to them, discussed about the details and bla bla bla... you know the rest. Managed to settle stuffs thanks to them super helpful people. Went to scout some homestays afterwards, checked out the beach to see how dirty  clean it is and had a seaside lunch before we returned to UM.
